Create Toolkit
Created in Waikato, now available in Marlborough
The Create Toolkit provides practical workshops, tools and resources to build confidence, strengthen capability and support the great mahi already happening across our communities. It is designed to help strengthen the reach and impact of existing work, while encouraging strategic thinking about how we can best serve the communities we are connected to.
The Create Toolkit has been developed by Creative Waikato and licensed for use in the Marlborough region by Creative Marlborough. Designed specifically to support artists, creatives, and cultural organisations, it also offers practical guidance that is valuable for any community group or organisation. With resources covering topics such as governance, project planning, funding, marketing, and more, the toolkit helps build capability, strengthen confidence, and support the great mahi already happening across our communities.
How to use Create Toolkit
These workshops are delivered as e-learning videos, allowing you and your group to work through the content at a time that suits you. Each workshop takes approximately three hours and is divided into chapters, making it easy to work through smaller sections at a time.
The workshops include hands-on activities, a supporting PDF toolkit and downloadable resources and templates where relevant. You can work through each workshop at your own pace, choosing how to use the activities and exercises based on the time you have available.
Together, the videos and supporting resources provide the information, tools and practical guidance you need to get the most from the training.

The Create Toolkit is a free resource open to Marlborough residents and organisations.
Do I need to be an artist to use the Create Toolkit?
Not at all. The Create Toolkit is designed for anyone working to create positive change in their community. The resources can be adapted to suit, not-for-profits, community groups, organisations and individuals.
