Brian Baxter

I am a semi retired artist, having painted professionally for the last 50 plus years, in oils, watercolours and acrylics.

Previous to that I was a sign writer, originally in Christchurch but more recently in Blenheim where I later continued as a working artist. My first award of any note was a first prize in the 1977 Kelliher art Awards.

I have exhibited in most main centres in NZ as well as in Adelaide Australia and Washington DC. Extensive overseas travels have provided material for dozens ,if not hundreds of paintings, executed in either oils, watercolours or acrylics, which have found their way to homes throughout NZ and overseas.

Subjects are not limited to landscapes however, as portraits, often of local personalities, have featured amongst more recent work, as well as still life and floral subjects.
