Caroline della Porta

Nga mihi nui. I am an illustrator, artist and art facilitator with over 35 years in the Design & Publishing Industry. After graduating with a BA Hons in Textiles: Embroidery, I worked as a textile designer in London before launching CdP Illustration with clients ranging across newspapers, magazines, packaging, promotion and book publications.

Working to tight deadlines using ink, brush, pen and paper, developed my strong graphic style and an ability to interpret a brief to the client's needs. This practice is an essential part of how I approach a personal work, an art workshop, a community mural, a commercial commission and collaborative design projects, reflected in the RAW Real Art Workshops I have delivered to youth organisations and business groups: most recently a series of "Peaceful Towns" sessions for the Mayors for Peace programme and a mural at the Picton site of The Whale Trail.

As CdP Texstyles I work using mixed media to create embroidered and layered art pieces. My personal highlights have been selected three times for the Adam NZ Portraiture Award, a challenge I set myself every year.

In NZ, my illustrations have been published in The School Journal, "Whisker the Kiwi Chick" author Narine Groome, Wild Tomato magazine, and on the cover of the 2008 Marlborough Yellow Pages directory.
