My artistic journey began in 2010 when I embarked on a Drawing and Design course at the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology. I attended in order to learn new skills to support my soap and body product business, however, this endeavour ignited a love for drawing. In particular, pencil drawing. I had tried painting my assignments but that didn’t go well, so thought I’d try pencil and it just clicked.

Presently, I embrace the challenge of capturing my subjects through photography (where possible) and translating them onto paper using my favourite 2B pencil, or alternatively coloured pencils, alongside a blender and eraser. That’s all.

I love drawing birds, so far New Zealand native birds, but I’d love to draw more animals and landscapes in the future.
