Creative At Heart

Creative at Heart is a local non-profit organisation that celebrates and uses the therapeutic arts to support people with a wide range of needs throughout the Marlborough community. Through music therapy, art therapy, creative workshops, and collaborative projects, we create welcoming spaces where people can connect, express themselves, and experience the wellbeing that creativity makes possible.

Creativity has the power to help people express what words cannot, reconnect with themselves, and build meaningful relationships with others. Our programmes and workshops support emotional regulation, developmental needs, social connection, confidence, and wellbeing in ways that are engaging, inclusive, and person-centred. We support children and adults with a diverse range of needs and experiences, including trauma, illness, neurodiversity, dementia, addiction, and mental health challenges.

A core part of our mission is making therapeutic arts accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances. Through funding, sponsorship, and community support, we are able to offer many of our programmes at heavily subsidised rates, reducing barriers to participation and ensuring more people can benefit from the connection and wellbeing that creative expression fosters.

Our vision is a community where creativity is recognised as a powerful pathway to wellbeing and connection. We are passionate about fostering wellbeing in Marlborough for all through the therapeutic arts - creating opportunities for people to connect, express, and transform.

We offer individual and small group music therapy programmes, individual and small group art therapy programmes, supporting tamariki through music workshops for educators, caregiver and child art workshops, youth art workshops, and collaborative community projects.
