Pottery Embassy

Pottery Embassy is a pottery studio based in Shop 11/1 Market Street, CBD, Blenheim, New Zealand, centred around creativity, community, and the experience of making with clay. Through pottery workshops, wheel throwing classes, hand-building sessions, and handmade ceramics, the studio aims to create welcoming and approachable creative experiences for people of all skill levels.

The work and workshops at Pottery Embassy are inspired by slow living, functional ceramics, and the calming nature of working by hand. There is a strong focus on creating pieces that are both beautiful and practical. Objects designed to be used, enjoyed, and connected to everyday rituals.

At the heart of Pottery Embassy is the belief that pottery is more than simply making ceramics. Clay has the ability to help people slow down, reconnect with creativity, and experience mindfulness through hands-on making. The studio encourages exploration, experimentation, and finding joy in the process rather than perfection.

The Journey

Founded by Yasi, Pottery Embassy grew from years of exploring ceramics through self-directed learning, community workshops, and studio practice across regional New Zealand.

Originally based in St Arnaud, Yasi began running pottery workshops within local and surrounding communities with a focus on making creative opportunities more accessible - particularly in smaller towns where pottery and arts education can often be limited.

Over time, this evolved into the opening of Pottery Embassy Studio in Blenheim, creating a permanent creative space where people can learn pottery, build confidence, and connect with others through clay.
