Café Create

Café Create – a bi-monthly breakfast gathering designed to celebrate Marlborough’s unique blend of creativity and community. The event is a hub for creative minds to exchange ideas, share experiences, and build meaningful relationships across various industries. Each café catch up will features a guest speaker, Q&A session and networking.

Join us for the final Café Create of 2026 as we return to our morning format at Kaiaka Café. This month we’ll be highlighting two Space Create projects and celebrating the launch of the new Creative Marlborough website.

Tess Landon-Lane is a local creative who recently returned to Marlborough after a decade living in London and working in the fashion industry. Through the Fashion Your Way workshops at The Blue Door, Tess has been helping people explore sustainable style, rethink their wardrobes, and make the most of what they already own.

Raffaela Dragani is a Blenheim-based artist whose work explores themes of memory, identity, resilience, and self-expression. Her recent Space Create installation, ‘Words I haven't told you,’ invited visitors to reflect on unspoken conversations, forgiveness, and the connections that continue to shape us long after moments have passed.

We are also pleased to highlight the launch of the new Creative Marlborough website. The website provides a central online platform to showcase Marlborough’s creative sector, connect artists and creatives with opportunities and resources, and help audiences discover local creative activity. It includes a creative directory, events and projects, public art, and the Create Toolkit, providing practical resources and support for artists, creative practitioners, community groups and organisations.
