FOLIO etc.

The artistic talent of Marlborough’s young people is showcased through the FOLIO etc. Marlborough Youth Art Exhibition, a biannual exhibition celebrating the NCEA portfolio work of Year 11, 12 and 13 students.

In 2026, the exhibition expanded beyond the Marlborough Art Gallery at Te Kahu o Waipuna with the launch of the FOLIO Trail – Bringing Art into Town, as part of Council’s Space Create initiative.

The FOLIO Trail featured selected student artworks displayed in local business windows and spaces throughout Blenheim’s town centre, creating a vibrant, walkable arts experience that celebrated young creatives and helped enliven the town centre while the Market Street Revamp was underway.

The 2026 FOLIO etc. Exhibition and art trail was led by the Marlborough Youth Council in partnership with the Marlborough Art Gallery, local colleges and Marlborough District Council. Exhibition artworks were selected by art teachers.

The FOLIO Trail was made possible with the support of local businesses, including Harcourts and Thomas’s, which provided spaces for student artworks.
