Summer Sounds in the CBD

The Summer Sounds in the CBD series brought live music to Blenheim’s town centre throughout January, with local and visiting musicians performing at the rotunda in Market Place each Saturday afternoon.

The series began on 20 December and attracted strong interest, with performance times adjusted to allow people more opportunity to relax, listen, linger and enjoy summer in the CBD.

Summer Sounds in the CBD was the first activation delivered through Council’s Space Create initiative, which aimed to revitalise the region’s town centres by bringing energy, visibility and fresh ideas into town centres.

The music series was followed by an artificial ice-skating rink, which was an additional summer activity for the community, with proceeds going to Blenheim Scouts as a fundraiser.
