Details: Part of a Blenheim Business Association initiative, this mural celebrates Blenheim’s early history and its former nickname, ‘The Beaver’ or Beaverton. The name is said to have originated when an explorer visiting friends became stranded in a flood and remarked that they were living like beavers in a dam. The mural depicts two beavers in an almost yin-yang composition, representing the Northern and Southern Hemispheres and the worlds above and below the water.
